Running cable for rear facing dashcam

Searched the various threads on dashcams but couldn't see a response to this.

For those who have installed a rear facing dashcam, how did you run the cable to the camera? Pulling the headlining seems way overboard and I'm not sure how it can be tucked on the sides, so that leads me to run it along the bottom of the car and back up, but would need a pretty long cable for that.

I ran mine inside the roof lining and really, it’s not all that bad a job. The trickiest part, no matter which route you take is feeding the cable through the rubber gaiter to the rear hatch.

I wish I seen this guide before I fitted my Road angel front and rear dash cam to my 2015 estate, but I did do it exactly as per the guide apart from feeding the cable through the rubber gaiters, I brought the cable out through the bottom of the door rubber, not as neat but I didn't fancy breaking anything and I mounting the camera to the glass not the trim, but I do now have an issue with the cam blocking the DAB signal.
