Hi everyone.
Looking for some reviews or experiences of a RTS clutch for a leon cupra 280.

My clutch is slipping so it needs changing.
Ive had a sachs clutch in my previous mk1 cupra r and remember it was heavy on the pedal so have started looking at Rts instead.

Any thoughts on them would be appreciated, the car is standard power at the moment. Cheers for now.

Rob Im in exactly the same position clutch has started to slip at 29000 in a Cupra 300 and considering RTS clutch as a replacement. Not that clued up on this stuff presume its a direct replacement and does not need fly wheel etc changed

As far as i know its a direct replacement. Whether you need a flywheel is dependent on how knackered the original is. I ve budgeted for a flywheel.
My car is on 46000.

If you're going for the RTS, then make sure you are going to a garage that know what they're doing and you follow the bed in process.

They're highly regarded, and @paddy6789 swapped out a a 2nd Helix that was slipping again for an RTS. There are a few horror stories but from what I understand its either been bad install, or not bedded in properly. I believe swapping the flywheel is recommended at the same time.

Got to admit, i ve seen some complaints whilsts looking at reviews today. Which has got me second guessing about a sachs performance clutch.
I know sachs is well known and liked over many various different makes and models so starting to get confused on which way to go.
To be honest i find it bloody stressful over thinking which clutch to buy.

I couldn’t fault my RTS twin friction.
I upgraded my stock clutch after going to stage one, but it was more in anticipation of the dreaded clutch slip. My stock clutch didn’t slip once, even whilst I was running stage one.
I upgraded to Helix Organic and began the bedding in process. Literally the day after I got it, I was getting clutch slip in 4th to 5th at casual acceleration.
I had it replaced under warranty with Helix who later deemed it was a defect on the one I had. However, when leaving the garage after getting my replacement Helix, it slipped again. I know people will be thinking ‘you must’ve been booting it’, but I swear I was driving like a granny with half an eye.
Anyway, I lost faith in Helix at that point and went for the RTS. Best decision I made and I couldn’t believe how light it was in comparison to the Helix. I’d also had the delay valve removed too.
Some people complain of judder when using the RTS, I had it for a bit but only during the first 1,000 miles or so. Follow the bedding in process properly and you won’t experience it like the others that do complain.

Hi mate, did you replace the flywheel as well, if so, what flywheel did you go for?
