Hi needing a pad change soon and my brother has an RS focus with a spare set of red stuff pads for it when we looked at the pads in my car now and set them beside the ones out of the focus they were the exact same shape the only differentce is the pad itself seems a little deeper, does anybody know if these pads are the same and fit straight into the brembos on the lcr. Thanks for any help.

By deeper i assume you mean in terms of the pad thickness? If the Focus pads are the deeper ones (which i think is what you are saying) then you might struggle to retract the pistons enough to get the pads in, in which case they wont fit.

They probably use a generic pad shape for the Brembo caliper, with the differences being pad thickness to accomodate different disc thicknesses.

Don't know if that helps at all?

i wouldnt fit pads that are not for the right calipers mate,

pads arent expensive anyways, stick to what is ment to be in there tbh

Cool guys thats what I needed to know, I do hear bad things about red stuff the brother doesn't use them was gonna just try them see what I thought but won't now just to be sure and yea it was the ticknest of the pad was bigger so prob would have had probs gettin them in, must be a generic shape and as you say depths are just different. I was curious more than anything as I was suprised they were what I thought the same. Think I can get a bit longer out of the ones I have at the min then it will be time to try these DS2500's they sound like they are the business. thanks guys for the speedy responses a fountain of knowledge as per usual.

Thanks,
Ryan.

Different pads

Just checked EBC Direct. Completely different part numbers for the two

Different dimensions as well

110x69x14mm For the LCR

110x69x17 for the RS. RS has no wear indicator either

The two have a different shape on the diagrams also, so i doubt you would get the pins to locate, even if you could get the pad in there.

Not worth the risk IMO
