i tried taking mine off the other day. unscrewed it, but it wouldn't detatch, it looks like it was hooked on with a little bar. how does the ariel come off?

Yeah well easy to swap,all you do is unscrew the old one as if you were going to put it down for a car was,and grip it hard and give it a good tug holding it at the base,this releases it from the anti theft,and it should be off.
Then all you do is screw the civic straight on pushing it as you screw it so it catches the thread as the civic Ariel has a shorter thread,then just tighten up and your away!

I got mine for around £15 off ebay...Hope this helps!

It's all in the moving about first (I found). Once unscrewed, strain the ariel from from side to side and forwards, then the sharp tug (Oh er missus :banned:) should work.
