Hi all. I am struggling with radio reception in my 2011 ibiza ST. I have replaced oem aerial with amplified shark fin because reception was poor and all circuits were corroded inside. Unfortunately it didn'n help. It's still rubbish and the only station with decent quality is BBC radio 1 and I'm fed up with listening to it in the morning. I have replaced lead going from radio to aerial as well because resistance measurement was showing me that it may be corroded too. At the moment I think that shark fin is too short and that's why I'm suffering this issue. Is there any amplifier or wide base aerial I can buy and mount? I can't buy oem aerial because the roof was painted by the previous owner and paint started to chip around old aerial base so I've covered it with shark fin.

My limited experience of modern Seat ICE leads me to suspect that they are only useful in high signal level area, though I can't comment on the later MMI kit that is more than a radio/CD//MP3 combo. Certainly the MMI in my 2011 Audi S4 and wife's 2015 VW Polo SEL work well in a poor signal level area. Older VW radios also worked well changing frequencies when necessary.

Of course if you work in a calibration lab(?) you should access to equipment and skills that could sort this out.

You are absolutely right. I work in calibration lab but it is dimensional so electrical/electronic devices are not covered and we do not have capabilities.
Just wondering if anybody installed an amplifier to already amplified antenna and it worked. I don't want to buy it and then realise that it's not working.
Any advice will be appreciated.
