revo or apr tuning software

Hi guys, recently purchased my second LCR after changing the first for a Honda s2000. Looking to get some extra bhp for the lcr but am not sure whether to go for the revo or apr. On my first lcr had revo trial and wasnt impressed, thought that top end performance had decreased. One of the boys had apr fitted to his 1.8t golf which was great and i was told by awe gti that revo is low down the rpm range where apr is throughout rpm range. If any1 can shed some light on my little problem please reply.

Cheers, :D

AGTI would say that with them being APR dealers!
When Revo is setup correctly its a match for any software out there.

Lol, of the two mentioned Revo would be my fist choice.
I had Revo for a good while and know how good their software is.
I have no regrets changing though.

Bear in mind trial software isn't intended as a product to use a a direct comparison... when we first did it the intention was for it to entice customers in that would never really consider such a product. Due to the limitations of it reverting to stock running it's not as good as full code... which is adjustable and can be set up to suit the car/conditions/etc.

Hi
You have to agree with Kev there.
The free trial is not as good as the full remap.
But will give you a taste of what you can expect.
If you have any questions there are people at hand to help
The problem is that you will find that people reccomend what they have.
And so they should as it goes to show that they are happy with it (or that they dont want to slate their own cars or judgement i dont know)
But do a bit more searching and ask questions , hopefully that will help
Have fun
Sarah

Cooling down a little now.
Just had to agree with you there though.
You got that bubble bath thing sorted yet?
If you want I could try it out for you?
Oh sorry to hijack thread
Just goes to proove that we have some rspect for each other and dont slate each other too

The power delivery is constant throughout rpm range with custom code aswell mate ;)

I've had a custom code remap on my LCR for just under a month now and I am very pleased.

It's made a fun car even more fun :funk:

Do a search there's loads of threads on here about remaps :)

Why not try the Bell Auto's Remap ?

You can specify & customise the power & delivery, & it lastd thru the entire rev range - very smooth :D

A Sarah says people will recommend what they have, it's only natural and quite right too that they have an opinion.

However, It's more difficult to find anyone without a biast opinion in one direction who could answer your question 100%....or even find someone who has tried all of the major players software on the same car.

The only other way I can see to compare products is to do yourself a list of Pro's and Con's regarding the 'other' things you get with software.

- Locality of Tuner
- Customer Service
- Terms and Conditions in case of refund etc / cooling off period
- Switchability of the map for servicing
- Overall Cost
- Ability to 'tune' your setup
- etc, etc

All tangible issues, some will be of more importance to you than others but it may help you decide.
