Hi i was just wondering what is the best rev range for fr tdi to maximise peformance. Such as reving to 4000 then changing gear or keeping it below 3000. What do you guys recommend?

Is the car remapped? If so then you should beable to rev it to 4-4.5k, otherwise yep change gear at between 3-3.5k rpm. Hope this helps mate.

Yeah it shouldnt do too much harm as the redline isnt untill 5k, but after 3-3.5k the power starts to die off so it is probably best to change at 3k. Hope that has helped mate.

I change on 4.5k when im pushing it but I feel torque drop off at about 3.8k so change at 3.8k on normal driving

keeping it between 2 and 3k rpm will deliver best performance/fuel economy as this is where peak torque is, anything over 3k is just for clearing out soot wanting to wring every last bit of performance out of a gear selection.

On the money Stew...:)
Peak torque is usually around 2800-2900 so anything below (but around) that will give you good performance and fuel economy.:)
