rev metre lagging

hey guys, noticed on some days when I start my car and start driving, when I change gears the revs seem to be lagging, anybody experienced similar? maybe cold engine?

ive noticed when its just in neutral and put your foot down it does seem to take a second or two for a responce, maybe just cold as ive only done it when i first start the car up!

I haven't had an issue with the rev meter lagging at all. The throttle response on my 1.6tdi is great too, it is instant as soon as I touch the peddle the revs increase.
