Retrofit cruise pics / help needed

Hi peeps,

My retrofit cruise stalk and loom arrived today wich i hope to attemt to fit this weekend.

I am fitting it to my LC 2000.

I have VAG-COM already so i am ok activating it etc..

I need help locating the 10 pin plug and advice on weather i need a additional 4 wire loom as some suggest? if so where does it go?

Any peeps with pics of the install would be of use. partuculally the LC 1.8t 20v

P.S any precautions re air bag that i need to observe too.

Not sure about the cruise, but re the airbag - make sure the battery is disconnected for 10-15 mins before touching anything. Don't drop it, carry it facing away from you - normal stuff. Probably sounds a bit over the top, but it going off is going to be a)painful, and b)expensive. Take care!

I thought about this on my R but had trouble getting the additional loom which I think you will need.
You can't get it from dealers so you have to either make it yourself or get it made by someone else for you.
In the end I spent four pleasant hours in JKM in Portsmouth this morning while they supplied and fitted it for me and it's fantastic, soooooooo smoooooth

I did mine using all the information found on the previous link, including the extra loom , which he makes himself and is top quality!!
It's also one of the best mods and it's not hard to do as long as you take care.......... JUST DO IT!!

I emailed that guy about the loom 3 times and he never replied so I thought bugger it and got the specialists to do it.
wardy2602 the install cost 199+vat but got it for 179+vat due having some more grin factor added at the same time!

AFAIK the TDi is already prewired into the ECU so you only need to wire up into the bulkhead

Yep for soom reason the dervs have the ecu to bulkhead wires already installed so you only need the stalk and internal loom plus activation.
Us gasoline addicts need this ecu loom as well and the labour to fit it.

Cruise Control Kit Number

Just had mine done and the Cruise Control came as a complete Kit
The Box it all came in was Part Number 1JO 998 527 A
Inside box was 2 other boxes,one for the stalk and I think the loom aws in the other box , but the part numbers of these were :-
Cruise stalk :-1JO 953 513 01C
Loom : 1JO 971 425 A

I have just taken these numbers off the VAG boxes ,I think a pin connecter is still required to connect to ECU and doesnt come in the kit.
Total price of kit from Seat dealer was £57 if I remember.
I had it fitted by Ex Seat Master Technician and it is a fantastic bit of kit -only way to get the best MPG from the car on Motorway -And I'm going to need it soon as driving to Italy via France and Switzerland and then back via Monaco and and Southern france. Will be taking it easy and running in my new gearbox -but thats another story.

got the main loom and the stalk just need the additional loom, emailed the guy Friday, not heard anything since...

Not getting my hopes up considering other people have had little or no response from emails.
