Hi all
I have spent time reading the 'Retrofit OEM Bluetooth kit' thread in the Leon Mk2 FAQ section of this site, which has been very useful. Also the thread about fitting the MFD3 / RNS-510.
But I have a question which hopefully someone can answer definitively and quickly...
I am looking into buying a used 2008 ('58 plate) Leon FR, 2.0 TFSi, Manual. This does not have factory fitted Bluetooth or Sat Nav.
If I bought this car, and retro-fitted the OEM Bluetooth kit, plus the MFD3/RNS-510 touch screen unit, can you answer the following:
1) As the car would not have fitted the largest display in the instrument cluster, I understand this means the caller's name / number, plus sat nav directions, would not be displayed in this area?
2) Despite not having this large display, with the retrofitted Bluetooth and RNS-510, would I be able to have the 6 phone number 'speed dials' appear on the touch screen?
3) When I got a call, would the caller's name / number appear on the main touch screen?
4) Would the steering wheel mounted controls for phone and music work?
5) If I really wanted the larger instrument cluster display, could I buy this from Seat and fit it, or is this a massive DIY job?? I read that a forum member on here did this, cost him about £500 I think.
Sorry for all the questions, but the answers to each could sway my car-buying decision. I have numbered the questions to make answering them easier, but any advice is appreciated.
Thank you.
