Some numpty scuffed my rear bumper right to the plastic and it looks like it need a respray:cry:, what do you think? The scuff is about 3" long.

Now both my bumpers and bonnet are covered in scratches and hundreds of little stone chips, and it makes the car look tatty.

How difficult and expensive would it be to get the leon bumpers/bonnet resprayed, and how difficult is the (ebony?) black colour to match?

The nearest place to me is Smartworld Exeter car body repairs. Anybody know if they are good?

The bumper shouldn't be too difficult to repair. I'd imagine a chips away type company could sort that for you.

I'm in the same boat and want the front end of may car re-sprayed. I have had quotes vary from £300 - £500 (bumper, bonnet and wings). The colour match should be fine and any decent panit shop will blow in surrounding panels so you won't be able to notice the difference.

Its hard to give quotes. For the front of my Golf, I got quotes from £150 to £800.
Go arround and look. I went for the £150 after seeing his other work, and it was spot on

Thanks. I've got a few quotes on the way but I think I'd need to see some of their work before I'd let them loose on it. I might let them repair the scuff first, then if any good they can do the rest.
Looks like the exhaust will be on hold for another month! :(

If the quotes come back with silly prices let me know as my little bro works in Kastners Volvo in Marsh Barton, Exeter and maybe able to sort something cheap if you fancy me having a word?? I know the quality is top notch.

to give you an idea my car is in at the moment being tidied up, im having the Front Bumper, Bonnet, Front Wings, Rear Bumper, Boot, All 4 Wheels Re Furbed. A lot of the damage bar the bonnet and bumper is marginal and only slight sracthes that cant be removed by polish but im super fussy, Im paying £1000 cash for everything and the job my bodyshop do is superb!!!!!!!!!

I got a quote from one place for £150 to just repair the scuff.
Went to a proper spray shop and he said due to the shape of the rear bumper there was nowhere to blow in just that corner and it wouldnt be perfect. Recommended to do whole bumper for £250.
What do you reckon? Btw I'm not paying...the person responsible for the damage is. I just want it done properly.

theres no where to blow it in :S all you need to do is dust it on round the repair and re-laquer the bumper, hey presto job done and you wont notice. all you have to do is give it a good wet sand where its scuffed, scotch the bumper and paint it. Shame your so far away or you could have brought it to me.

Defected!
When I first viewed my car it had a scuff on the rear bumper very similar to the one on yours, the dealer said he'd get it done along with a cracked fog light lens as part of the deal. It was airbrushed by a Chips-Away type company and when I went back I could'nt remember where the scuff was, still have'nt found it to this day.

Be warned - Chips Away do some really good work, but their paint is not particularly hard and therefore useless on certain areas of your car - eg front bumper, wings, bonnet, wing mirrors, leading edge of roof, a-pillar. I've had work done on mine and they've redone the front bumper twice (so including the initial work, done 3 times in 3 years!) and its still a mess, same with the wing mirrors. The rear bumper was more successful and a repair to fill a knick and scratch is still invisible 3 years on.

My view is to get it resprayed properly by a bodyshop - it'll be a repair that lasts.
