Replacing Stadard Stereo with Normal DIN size?

Please advise where the best place is to get the correct removal tools for the standard AURA CD/Player from my 2005 Leon FR & where do i get the DIN Converter housing? dealers or halfords ???
Iam i right in thinking the Battery Live & Ignition live are the otherway around in these Cars ?

Not sure about the wiring, but you can get the removal tool and the blanking plate for the sides from Halfords.

People have mentioned cutting up and old credit card or similar to fit in the gaps to remove the radio. Do a seach and you'll find loads of info

Battery and ignition are swapped yes

You need a facia panel available from any autoleads stockist even halfords. You also need the antenna booster so you get good radio reception.

My Radio tool was

an old B and Q card.
Take an old credit card and cut lengthways.
End up with a 2 strips about 6-7 mm wide.
Slide into slots on bottom of radio and hey presto

Iam a bit weary what type of connector is on the back of the AURA CD/Player?
not the standard ISO type is it ?
So what does most folks do when they put a different Stereo in then ?
i bet not many know of this issue?

Has anyone got a facia to match the FR dash trim? If so, where can I get one?
If not, what have most people done? Stuck with a black plastic facia plate?

The iso connector just plugs straight into standard new HUs. Swap the red adn yellow wires but make sure the key is not in the ignition or it will blow two fuses! oops.

I ended up using brute strength to get my Aura out. It was but anyway and managed in the end.

Next thing is unlocking it - the garage didn't have the code!!

hi folks

i searched and found this thread . just wanted to double check that the same goes for my cupra R 04 plate with 6 cd autochanger , i know im going to lose the changer . but just wanted to double check that the same applies to swapping the red and the yellow wires , ive already brought the facia adaptor from halfords, they got the code wrong and only charged me a quid so was a right result !
Also where the best place to buy this airiel booster from ?
