Replacing Clutch pedal (sort of)

Hi,
My clutch pedal was replaced a while back. About two months ago a metal clip appeared in the drivers footwell and then the brake pedal became a bit loose - like when you are braking and then depress clutch, the brake pedal moves up and is a little wobbly side to side.

It appears the clip is the one from the brake pedal end of the pedal axle:
Now remove the clutch pedal switch by screwing it out.

Remove the safety clip on the end of the pedal axle with the flat screw driver and remove the clip on the other end of axle (next too brake pedal.

...

Here is what ELSA says with diagrams.

Weld it up and refit simple.

Matt

i have tried to pop it back on but for the life of me it won't go in, just meets a lot of resistance half way (to the piont where its cutting my fingers I am pushing that hard).

Any ideas? Do I just push harder to get it back on?

the clip only goes in a certain position. try to see where the grooves are and put the clip in the right position... use your fingers to work out where grooves are. for the clip you need a conciderable force... i used a flat screwdriver to push it down.
PS sorry if my english isn't perfect :D

Hi,
Thanks for reply.
Yeah I could see it only fitted in in one position but when lined up it would only go half way!
