Got a quote from a dealer for £77 for the pads themselves, and £138 fitted. Sounds a bit steep to me
Has anyone else had theirs replaced or know of any other alternatives, im currrently ~90% worn and need to get them done.
Plus are they easy to fit themselves? Ive replaced ones on old mini's before, do I need special tools or anything?

Need help ASAP :)

I haven't had to do a set on my Ibiza yet but have done on other cars and theres nothing complicated about them. Only difference is, you have 4 pistons to put back in instead of one. And you need to push the 4 of them in at the same time or else they come back out when you do the others

If I follow the guide for doing the LCR Brembro's on the main site, will I get lost?
Just going to pick the pads up now. :)

my bro did them for me he mechanic for mercedes. easy on ramps but would be very difficult on just a jack stand!

take off two pins with a torx screwdriver from behid the caliper
then knock out the two small diaminter pins with hammer and punch, (hard bit!?
the old pads should then slide out the problem
pushing the pistons back he used a clamp thing that went on either side of the brake disk inside the caliper and open it outwards,
then clean the brake dust with wire brush, copper grease the back of the pads
reversed the operation, paid him a tenner! he gets full use of the equipment ;)

p.s i would fancy doing this on jack stands without the proper clamp cos i can see an expensive accident happening if your fist time,

4 pot calipers are harder than the norm?!? my bro said the amg 8 and 10 pots get difficult! lol

remember to pump brake pedal when done BEFORE drivin goff down the road... cos you will have no pedal when you first use em otherwise... which is quite scarey LOL

Did yours not have the anti ratle springs?

The Bridge bolts are M8 allen head type - not Torx.

If you had weared out your OEM pads why didnt you get some uprated pads? Bill does some ferodo DS2500 at a very good price and they are a great set of pads, much better then the OEM ones.

Didnt really thing about it... you know what im like! I strugle to fit anything to a car ;) (not that you can ever tell anyone!!!!!)

Off to get some copper grease now, and then off i go to crack on with it. I was going to get tom torx screwdrivers, but thanks to Stu, as you saved me a few quid :)

Wish me luck... I'll need it. :headhurt:

All done now unfortunatly, and I dont have a decent camera.

My only good advice to the people out there is to make sure you have all the tools ready at hand when you do this  .

Had a bit of difficulty getting the pins out, but apart from that it was P-easy. I reckon i could do it in under 40 mins, if I was fully prepared again, instead of the three hours it did :censored:

Pushing the pins out was the only difficulty, because I didnt have anything to do it with... had to get my bro to nip out to halfrauds and get something half way through.

Anyway once I had a 4mm pin pusher outer thing it was fine.

Just been out to make sure they work :) Saved me £85 quid :D

I suspected the the pins might have been a bitch to get out, shoulda mentioned you'd need a 3mm pin punch:doh:

I hope you whacked them back in fully home as the ball type spring on the nd needs a fair old whack to get them to go in properly.

Still a saving of £85 aint to be sniffed at;)

Certainly not to be sniffed at. Feel pretty cuffed at doing them now, not only cause they work, but also I saved a fair wedge of beer money.

Cheers for the help boys!
