So,

Trying to replace the rear wiper blade on my '07 Leon FR, the plastic 'catch' has snapped on the plastic arm cover, and now it will no longer hold the blade in place.

Any quick ideas as I'm doing a big old journey at the weekend

Cheers for that, I've ordered (and received) the Golf mk6 rear wiper arm, cap & wiper blade, but have no idea how to fit it.

I have removed the old cap and nut, but the arm seems firmly attached from the inside. Is that the case? Do I have to open the boot to get at it from the inside?

Did you get to the bottom of this? My wiper is on a bit wonky and I can't seem to budge the thing either. Nowt is simple!

I did the same thing.
You just remove the nut.
You then need to get the arm to release from the spline, so pull on the arm at the hub and tap the bolt (from the motor) with a soft mallet, so the two forces are opposite.
It should come free after a few attempts (try spraying some WD40 on where where they are currently joined).
Good luck !

It isn't quite the same. Just got one and the top cap doesn't have a hole for the rear wiper wash. Anyone got a seat part number for one with?

When I tried to line up my wiper, ended up using a bearing extractor on it as it was well stuck on the spline... But thats all that holds it on along with the nut. No need to go inside the boot.

I wouldnt worry about it - I've DE-Wipered the rear of my Leon (so dont have one at all).
Doesnt really cause any issues not having one, plus looks 10X sleeker!

EDIT: Hmm, this Thread is a year old! Just slightly premature.
