some may say lala land....
Hello,
Have searched and can only find stuff on HID's or better standard bulbs, which didn't quite answer my issue.

Main beam, went on bulb tonight on way home. Not ideal in this weather.

So, question is:
I can't affords HID's, but need a new light bulb, so should I get upgraded bulbs or a standard bulb until i get HID's in the new year.

cheers,
neilw

If your going to get HID's in the new year... I'd just get a cheap normal bulb to get you by for the meantime.

Not a good idea to use HID's for your main beam though - when you flash (Rapid on/off's of the HID's can shorten their lifespan) it isn't all that good of an idea.

When using uprated normal halogen bulbs I didn't notice much of a difference from normal bulbs... HID's you will notice a big difference - and to be honest you'll probably not use your main beams for much more than flashing people afterwards.

A local motor factors would do, but even Halfrauds shouldn't rip you off too much for a standard H7 bulb.

But yeah, a cheapo to get you by would be spot on ;)

Philips Premium isn't the cheapest but close, and really good. Most likely much better than anything that isn't Philips, Osram or GE.

that's all done
quick tenner at halfords and can now see.

Didn't realise before, how much of a complete b!tch it will be to access the nearside bulb should they need changing - looks like tool kit needed for car boot :(

Ah yeah I know. Although - if you look in the little toolbox where the jack is, there is a screwdriver in there to use for removing the black cover to give you access :)

Cool, cheers Chr15b.
Hadn't thought to look in there and only lift the lift to hoover underneath and catch dust and the rubbish you have no idea how gets there or where from...
