Have searched everywhere for this answer. Replaced battery on 1999 toledo v5. Now won't start, dashboard lights up ok, but engine won't turn over. Then dashboard flickers like mad. If i jump it will that cure the problem?
Thanks for advice, will get on case, or more likely will ask someone else to get on case! Its the husbands car, all gadgets. But I am on a steep learning curve, so who knows!
Apologies if this sounds a bit condesending but, have you tried looking in the manual. If I remember correctly it mentions a reset that is required of the immobiliser after a battery change. Pretty certain it tells you how to do it.
Sorry was going to say what happened. Eventually got car to garage. New Battery dead, and also alternator (clutch in the pulley). Fixed by local man (not local dealer who are unbelieveably expensive). Alternator stripped and repaired, new battery. Man collected and returned car. Bill was £171 (including new battery)- bargain I thought.
