repalcing car battery

Hi,
I have got to change my battery on my diesel 51 plate Leon.I have disconnected it,but there is a bolt to undo at the bottom by the light.I was just wondering if this was the only one to undo.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

From memory this is the only one.

It's just a clamp to keep the battery from going walkie's around the engine bay during "spirited" driving.

What I can't remember is if you need to completely remove it, or just loosen to allow you to remove the battery...

Yes it is the only one, IIRC its 13mm so hopefully youve got a extension for your ratchet. I always find it a bit helpful to put some grease on the socket when putting the bolt back on so it doesnt drop down into the engine bay as easily.

Cheers guys.Have got it out.Another thing;I went to in an independent shop and AI said I needed a new battery for my car.He quoted about £43 but looking on the net with the right Amps and **** like that off my old battery they are saying more round £80.I was just wondering if the cheap one was a good deal or it will be **** and won't be up to the job.Any ideas.Cheers.

Diesels need a higher-power battery than petrol cars as they are harder to start (higher compression ratio). Best to go for a good one. Still reckon to get only five winters out of it though - anything more is a bonus.
