You will need;
T20 Torx
T25 Torx
Long reach adapter/small torx driver (it's a tight fit to get to the back ones)

Difficulty: 1/5, It's just undoing stuff.

1. Undo the screws underneath the glovebox, these are T20

Theres one either side.

2. Undo the ones at the top, theres 5 in total,

These are all T20, don't forget to take out the bump-top ones too!

3. In the above you can see the tricky ones hiding at the back of the glovebox, just behind where the back of the box has the little dips.
These ones are T25 (just to be different!)

4. To remove the box, pull it forwards and down from the top, it'll catch at the sides, give it a tug and the mushroom clips either side will come free. (much easier doing it this way than trying to remove the blighters first imo)
The box kinda hooks over the bottom of the dash hence the forwards and down motion,
Unclip the airbag switch and you're done. It'll look like this

Behind the white material is the aircon fan/compressor thingy

Note, the airbag key switch connector hasn't got a massive amount of give in it,, you can jsut see a light blue bit on the side of the clip that you have to push down (towards the glovebox) in order to free the connector.

Note 2 I forgot to do this, but you'll probably want to disconnect the batter first, as I didn't and now i've got the airbag warning light on the dash constantly. Also thought afterwards, maybe if you turn the airbag off, turn ignition on, then off then disconnect the car might be sued to the airbag not being there and not trigger the light. but disconnecting the batteries the definite answer (unless you have vagcom and can turnt he light off yourself afterwards)

I thought I needed to to get at the pollen filter (this was before i realised just where the pollen filter was)
Turns out it was quite handy as it's enabled me to make a tidier route for the aux cable from the centre console to the glovebox.

You might also want it out to route electrics for a sound system install etc, dunno, but if you do for whatever, now you know how

You wouldn't happen to know if the blower resistor can be reached by removing the glovebox?
