Removing Arona FR 2019 Leather Dash Panel

Hi All,

First post here. I am replacing my infotainment system with an Android head unit. I know I need to remove the leather part of the dash that runa accross the passenger side and around the infotainment screen in order to remove the existing unit. I have seen another post here that states it just pulls away but someone else also mentioned there may be a screw near the passenger door side, above the glove box. Can anyone else help me locate this screw (if it is there) or explain the safest way to remove this bit of trim? There appears to be zero guides online!

I really appreciate the help. Thank you.

Erwin is your friend on this:

You have to splash the cash. Basically you buy an hour or two of login time and download all relevant manuals, SSPs etc. The official workshop manuals produced by the Vag group.

This manual within it, perhaps updated is the one to browse. All 280 or so pages.

On the general one about removing bits. The screen itself as I understand it is held in by those normal key clips the same ones as hold the mib2 infotainment unit. That's in the glove box. Mib3 hides behind a panel in the glove box. Thus these manuals will have been reworked to provide the split in mib2 / mib3. I'd have thought your Android unit would just go in where the screen is but perhaps you do need to do extra digging out. The GPS aerial will terminate behind the glove box. If mib3 I haven't had a good look at the glove box of Arona ones. Leon 4 or Formentor they take a side panel off to get at the mib3 unit as I recall.

Once you have done it, do a guide with pictures.
