check with insurance 1st ;)

there was also a thread on here last year posting up a New Story. Bascially, a guy owned a Merc (or similar) with remote start as standard. He started his one mornin whilst having a coffee inside. Police knocked on his door and tried to give him points/fine for leaving a vehicle running and unattended.

It's a nice concept, but dunno if I could be doin wi the hassle TBH! I park on drive, put keys in, tickover, go back into house to finish coffee whilst standing at the window keeping an eye on the car. By time coffee is drank, car is warm :D

Or, just grow some balls and a cold car wouldn't bother you :roflmao:

just get a turbo timer timer fitted. you can usually pre-set the amount of time you want the engine to run for after the ignition is switched off and the keys removed. I used to start my car up, set the timer on 10 mins, remove keys, lock car and go back inside while I made my sandwich etc on a morning. This way you also get a turbo timer to cool your engine after you've been out thrashing it!

Surely the british weather isn't extreme enough to warrant one of these? Where I am at the moment its -10.5degC in the mornings, we just get in the car and go! The only time I've found one of these useful is when I was in florida and we would turn on the air-con before we got in the car to cool it down.

If the engine is running and its locked, could someone just smash the window and drive off?
