Remote Programming

Right, i've had enough of fumbling in pockets and scratching my paint because i'm shivering so much, i'm going to order a remote from my local stealer, the fella at the parts desk says £60 plus programming, the question is, is the programming anything more than synchronising the remote to my car the way the handbook tells you how to because if it its not no way am i paying them an hours labour for a 30 second job, any help much appreciated

Sorry to crash your thread but it will save me posting a whole new thread as the answer will probably appear in here but how does one go about "re syncing" ones remote ?
Also where is the reciever in the car located ?

Cheers for the link, have e-mailed to see what mk ibiza its for because the key part looks like a mk3 or 4, do you reckon a mk3 remote will work on a mk2?

I think the transmit frequency’s vary so if you don’t have the right one then it won’t work. Try your local locksmith as they may be able to help you, or somewhere like this. Clicky I haven’t used them just found the link in Google.
