Remote Locking

Hi all, Please can somebody help me

My 05 leon SX TDI 110 has developed a fault with the remote locking.

She doesn't lock or unlock off the key, i have to physically turn the key in the lock.

After unlocking the car manually, i have to start the car up to open the rear doors or boot, to put the kids and pushchairs in, otherwise the alarm will go off.(not a good thing having the car running while putting the kids in, especially in Swansea)

Does the key just need re-coding ?

Also would it cost a fortune to get a second remote key ? (i used to work at a VW dealer and the lupo keys were about 110 pounds plus coding).

Forgot to say tested the battery in the key and it's fine

Unfortunately it doesn't work, it just set the alarm off.

I even tried it with a sharan fob i had hanging around but it still set off the alarm !

OK guy's, sorry haven't been on here for a while, but i'm back now !

Anyway, thought i'd finish this post off !

The insurance was up in Dec, so i shopped around and changed to another company, who also covered the key's for theft, damage, loss.

Put a claim in last week, and got a new fob for the key, but i thought i'd be cheeky, and asked the guy at the dealer if he would order me a new remote key too !

Anyway i now have two remote key's that work and a non remote key that also work's
