Remote key fob not working

Hi


I have a leon cupra 1m, 2001,Y,bought off finance company 3 months ago, was finance reposession, so only got one key and the remote buttons on fob where nackered (look like some one run over it) anyway, bought another remote section from motors in motion at worksop,and placed on key, new battery as well,and still not working, by the way i can open doors and start/drive car,central locking works from in drivers door and from inside using button inside drivers door, have tried all suggestion or known methods on the forum, but still no remote locking,have latest vag com and scanned car but showing no faults. stumped

Hi

yes it has standard radio cassette and multi changer in glovebox, have had a problem with instrument panel lights coming on after about 2-3 minutes (only speedo and rev counter lights) of locking car from outside,and staying on all night, but that seems to have stopped doin that now,

Hmm sorry I'm not sure then. Normally putting in a different HU can cause that problem. It did that for me when I upgraded but after a search on here I found out what I needed to tweak.
