remote central locking

hey there folks!

I own a 200 cordy with central locking which was great until both the drivers and the passenger lock barrels started giving me grief. I know what needs to be done to fix em - a trip to my local scrappie will get me the bits I need, but I just wanted to know is it easy to fit a remote system in it? has anyone here tried or succeeded? What do I need n how much will I pay for the bits? I'm a bit of a rookie but unafraid of a challenge so I'd like to try it myself rather than shell out a fortune for some smug gimp in a garage to do it in ten minutes. I'm sure you all appreciate where I'm coming from on this..?

Anyway, any help or suggestions (websites for parts etc.) verty very welcome.

pick up a haynes manual for a mk2 Ibiza - that'll show you how the door handle comes apart - probably the bone shaped link has snapped - and you will need to replace it

Yeah, I took the door apart a while back and swapped the bone from the passenger side to the drivers. It was a bit dodgy but it worked. Until today. The git! So I can use the door bits off a mk2 Ibiza? That's me goin t the scrappie in the morning. Thanks mate. But can I fit a remote to the central system that's already in place? And why in God's name can you not get a haynes manual for 2000+ Cordy's?!? get's right up my jacksie, so it does!
