Right, i think i am posting this in the right place.
My central locking works perfectly fine no problems. You can lock and unlock the car.
The problem i have is that, when you lock or unlock it the hazard lights don't flash.
It's a bit consufing because i thought that's how the deadlock, imobiliser and alarm get set!!
Is there a way to fix this?
Or is that the way it should be?

Cheers guys!!

One but press locks alarms and immobilises, two quick presses locks but doesn't alarm or immobilise.

You can turn on and off the lights flashing with VAG-COM, either get someone with it to do it for you or take it to the stealers, should set you back too much.

Yeah i know the button you mean. I thought that was for when you have dogs or cats in the car so that the alarm doesn't go off!!!
But i will give that a go!!
Anyone else with this problem?

I read in the owners manual that if you press the lock button twice it just locks the car. This disables the alarm and imobiliser but it doesn't tell you how to enable it again!!

I am just thinking that there must be an easier way of doing it other then with VAG-COM!!
It let's you disable it so easy just by pressing the button twice and to enable it again you have to take it to a dealer. That's just stupid!!! [:@]

I have just had a look at the manual and it say:-

"to disactive the anti-theft alarm turn the key in the opening direction or press the open key on the remote control"

two flickers open and disactivate the alarm

one flicker locks and activates the alarm

You press the button twice and that disables the alarm for that time only. To reenable the alarm, unlock the car using the remote control, then press the button once to lock the car and the alarm is activated again.

No;

Pressing the lock button once on your car is alarming and is immobilising, it's just not flashing the indicators as it's switched off in VAG-COM.

Pressing the button twice will lock the car but not alarm or immobilise.

Just had a look at it now. When i lock it the red LED does flash, which means that either the imobiliser or the alarm is active!
I think my only option with regards to the hazard lights flashing when i lock it or unlock it is to take connect it to a VAG-COM!!
Going to ring the dealer and sort that out under warranty!!

Any luck with sorting the indicators with the alarm?

I have exactly the same problem on my 03 Leon, everything seems fine just indicators don't flash. Which is weird because I swear they used to when I first saw the car in a viewing before I bought it.

I took the car back to the dealer where I bought it from and they sorted it out. Luckly it was still under warranty so didn't pay to get it fixed. Mind you this is going back a while! :)
Hope that helps!

This is really easy to do with VAGCOM under the central convenience options, u can also make the alarm do a little PIP when it is set.

I know this, cause i did it today :p

Is that with the "full version" of VAG-COM? I have a cable i got off ebay and the free version (311.2) of VAG-COM.

I can get into 46-Central Conv where i can then select from the buttons at the bottom. Where do I go from there? Any chance of some simple instructions? Much appreciated.

Cheers

Yeah, I'd like to know this too.

Always wanted the "pip" and I'd buy a cable off ebay if it was possible.

Thanks,

Charlie

Thanks mate, looks like a handy guide. Something seems to be wrong with it though as the steps to enable the chirping are exactly the same as the indicator flashes which can't be right.

It's looking like I'm gonna need the full version to change settings like that but I will try it tonight. Otherwise, anyone in the Warwickshire area with the full version like to earn themselves a beer? :D
