Remapping

Looking at getting a remap this year for the Cupra and I know most people go for revo or Apr.

However I've seen a local company that remaps cars. Looking at the customers cars they have remapped there's quite a range! C63 AMG's. BMW M6, Audi RS6, RS4, Audi R8 etc some pretty expensive cars. Surely they must be pretty solid maps for customers to allow their expensive vehicles to be altered? Works out a fair chunk cheaper than APR/Revo also. Thoughts?

Will mostly be generic files that have been purchased through re-sellers of re-sellers. I often find with a lot of these companies they post random photos of cars that aren't even theres or haven't ever been near them. Reviews are often made up as well.

The other way I look at it, Mr X brings his 90k Mercedes to remapper, remapper bangs a £20 generic file on it and charges Mr X £100, Mr X goes out in the car and its faster (lets say it gives him 30bhp and 30lb.ft). Both are happy.

on the way home it starts spluttering and kangarooing the power, Mr X contacts remapper and remapper says its your car mate jog on....

Seen it far too many times.

By remap, do they mean developed a map for those cars on a dyno, or just reflashed with someone else's map. Ask.
