Just round the corner.
I've had mine remapped two weeks ago at GTI International , but Custome Code. Cost £262.00
Power should be around the 210bhp now, but need to get her on rolling roaded to confirm.

Down side. no matter how carefully and sedately she's driven fuel economy has nose dived (even when the Mrs drives, she doesn't go over 3k revs).

forgot to ask, ive heard that remapping can affect the life of your engine, can anyone confirm this? its standard at the minute with 80k on the clock, would a remap to over 200bhp affect the engine in any way?
Cheers

not necessarily, mines a 2000 and i have an AUQ engine which means i have a k03s turbo. Check out the engine code first. Should be stamped on the front of the head, near the cam belt cover.

I'm suprised by your mpg. If i drive mine below 3000rpm its no worse than standard. the only time i notice slightly worse mpg is when im accelerating away hard in 6th on motorway journeys etc.

I drove to Devon from Sheffield a couple of weeks ago and got 39mpg average and i had a few little blasts en route ;)

look on the V5

The engine code is what you want to look at....its on the front of the engine drivers side I think you can see it by removing the plastic engine cover.

pre 00/01 cars had APP engines fitted with k03 turbos and shouldbe badged as sports

post 00/01 cars had AUQ engines fitted with k03s turbos and variable valve timing/ drive by wire. badged as cupras.

no real difference unless you remap then the AUQ tend to gain around 15bhp more.

Ah well mines definatly the AUQ engine.
And on the subject of the ignition coils going t*ts up, mine has had 4 new ones fitted this year and a new MAF so hopefully should have minimal problems when i eventually get it remapped.
