Remap

The main players are all generally well thought of and have puts lots of research and money into their products ... they are :

Superchips :with their Bluefin device for the ability to reflash the ECU to completely standard (as in your original map - not the remap companies version of standard) they have dealers all over or you can do it via an internet connection once they've sent you the Bluefin device.

Revo : Very respected with a switching device you can buy to change back to standard. Some say their remaps are quite aggressive when the turbo comes in - reality is that this can be programmed out easily by the dealer to make it more progressive. Their software code always sits in your ECU after they have remapped your car and whilst generally invisible to normal dealer equipment it could be discovered if someone took the time to look for it - not that I know of anyone who has had it found !

APR : Very similar to Revo but not as adjustable. The same comments re the code sitting on your ECU apply to APR as to Revo. you can go between standard and remapped via cruise control if you have it.

GIAC : Again, as APR and Revo the code sits on the ECU but you can switch between maps via a plug in device like Revo. People who have it seem very happy. More than that I don't know !

APS : a very well thought of company but no ability to switch between maps. Once their map is on your car you have to go back to them to get it taken off. The guys who are APS used to be AmD years back when they had a really good reputation. AmD have a good name themselves - just that now it is managed by different people ... if that makes sense ! R32 owners really like APS ....

Custom Code : Good reputation but like APS don't do a swiching unit so once mapped that is what you have. Reputation for being smooth yet still producing good power. You don't hear people moaning about them - that said none of these companies produce bad stuff !

.... and numerous other firms, some who may be as good and some who may not !

Hope this helps a bit - try the search button for more details on each one ....
