Is there a remap that is proven to improve mpg without doing damage to the car?

I'm getting an average of 54 but ive heard there may be a way to get faster and still have better mpg?

Just have a search for "remap" mate and all will be revealed! Or search for P-Torque, CustomCode, Revo... I assume you have a diesel with MPG like that! A remap will do what you asked in your original thread.

My average MPG was around 50mpg over 2000 miles or so, and it gradually went up to 53mpg over the next few thousand. So yes remaps can get you better MPG. As for damage, the torque of a remapped car will eventually wear the clutch (depending on how you drive).

Remember it will only improve if you dont have a lead foot

Tdi PDs can get the best MPG gain from a remap, You would have thought more power = More fuel used, well that fact is true. To produce more power you have to use a lot more fuel with some added boost to get an efficient burn. So a remap will use more fuel per stroke.

The fuel saving is really down to the driver, with added torque comes short shifting, getting up to crusing speed quicker etc. I have seen a 130tdi run 63mpg from a 180bhp/330+lbft remap.

Petrol turbo car will use a hell of a lont more fuel when driven hard, the fuel is added to match the boost the keep the AFR correct and extra fuel is used to gool the exhaust gas temps. If driven in the correct manner you can still get 3-5mpg more from a pertol remap.

There are a few companies which specialise in ECO / fuel saving mapping which involves adding more power to the engine to make the savings.

If its not power your after and your running a tdi then one of the quality digital tuning boxes are proven to save fuel when set up correct.
