I have seen some conflicting opinions on whether a remap will affect mpg - some say worse, some say better.
If I can save a few quid on fuel, then a remap is a good option. Much of my LCR's driving is in town, stop start, to work and back - infrequent longish runs, so presently mpg averages around 24-26mpg. I am thinking that a remap as well as giving that little more power when I race, will also allow the engine to work less hard when tootling along, and the increased torque will mean trundling along in 4th at 30mph will require less revs and give better mpg. Does this make sense, and in reality is it the case?
Also, what's the likelihood of reliability issues after a remap?
And before anyone says it - yes, I think i'm gonna get a Revo trial, but may plump for E-Maps if I go for a full remap.
