Had my heart set on getting a bluefin remap, however this will add another £200 ontop of my insurance.

Is £600 (400 remap 200 insurance) worth the extra 40bhp?

This is with bell insurance, does anyone have any recomendations for a mod friendly insurer? (im 23 with leon fr tfsi)

no sorry telling them uve had the remap done...

Yeah I understood, my point was if you aren't going to tell insurance about remap why insure at all? Isn't hard for them to find out its remapped in the event of a claim.

do some searches on here, Churchill, NUF anf LV have been known to give reasonable cover costs. I have been using A Flux - but cos they change the policy provider each year you have to make sure you are still covered for a modified car !!

bluefin is plug and play...so can be wiped as quick as put on....

But yeah obvioulsy if you had a bad enough crash where police are involved or the insurance company come out to inspect the claim you'd be pretty screwed if they ran tests....needs to be a huuuuuge claim and a serious one for that to happen.

I'd insure it for peace of mind...then you have a legit motor!

If you look on superchips bluefin website in the Faq's it mentions to try there specialist partner as premiums may remain unchanged

Guess there’s no harm in getting a quote from them

also bare in mind that if you've asked your current insurance provider they WILL keep a log of any modifications you inquire about, therefore if you make a claim they will go straight to the item you enquired about and see if you have done anything. Insurance companies will find any and every reason to not pay for a claim.
