Electric supercharger ?

Seriously, unless you've done something special with yours already, it'll be cheaper (both to do and insure) to 'upgrade' to a 1.8

remapping non turbo engines like the 1.6 you have doesnt provide big gains like it does for turbo engines becuase they cant increase the amount of air induction along with the increase in fuel like a turbo one can. Financially its not really worth it.

By the time you've messed about with induction kits and dodgy exhausts you'll probably end up with less power than you started with a double the insurance premium. Put your money in the mattress and save up for a faster car if thats what you really want.

agree with the above, just save the cash for a 1.8T if you stick with seat or VAG. you'll be more happy with it out of the box.

you could probably pick up a mk3 biza cupra 1.8T, which would mean you get more power, new car etc.

1.6 are sluggish, the weight on them will make no differnt no matter wat u do tha small engine, save up and go for turbo, far better dan 1.6 and 1.8. turbo have more stuff to play around and remap is worth it for them not for non turbos
