Relocating fuel cap

Hello, Im thinking that I want to relocate my fuel filler cap, either to the door shut or inside the boot, I've found a small flush fit cap from demon tweeks but anyone know of how I would sort out the fuel hose to the tank? Is there a way of adapting the original?

pretty much put it anywhere as long as there is a smooth sealed flow to the tank itself and i'm pretty sure the pipe/tank are joined with a hose/gaiter but not near my car to check if its clipped on or clamped on sorry

just make sure the other hoses you see are accomodated for also as they balance tank pressure and breathing etc

door shut would be good if flush but the rear 1/4 is open behind the trim so may need to add some shielding as most fuel pipes are kept exterior is possible are you wanting to hide it from sight then i guess

To relocate the fuel filler you won't be able to mod the original pipework, what you will need is fuel proof flexi pipe to run from the tank inlet to you new location. Demon tweeks should sell it to go with your filler cap. And as flopper says you need all those other hoses as in his picture.

Ok, been looking at the diagram that flapper posted, I don't get how I would do it! Say if I was to relocate to the door shut, it's lower than the original location so how would I modify it?! Confused!

Remove the part labelled as 2 with 7 and 9 beneath its lines. Now take new piece of hose and connect to where you just removed part 2 from and route it to where you want it.

So i remove part 2 (bit that goes up inside the arch) then connect 7 & 9 to 26? or just remove everything above 2?! this is confusing me! sorry!

Remove part 2 and then you need to use a new piece of pipe to connect the tank to your new fuel filler cap. Then you need to add extra pipes to connect part number 7.

What do you gain from it apart from loosing a tiny flap on the body work that you will then have to patch extremely well or it to come through it a year or so like most patched holes.

If it was a rally car and you had an uprated tank in the back i could understand.

If it was a rally car and you had an uprated tank in the back i could understand.

The question is ... why not?! lol most other things are being smoothed on the car, (front indicators, side indicators, handle recesses, rear wiper, rear lock, roof aerial, front bumper recess, fogs etc..)

just a little touch that i think will be nice.

or maybe he want's to make his car look how he wants it, by being unique yet by not sticking massive bodykits or 'universal spoilers' on his car. Not dissing people who like bodykits etc...not my cup of tea, but it's his car...his money and I for one like the idea

I think moving the fuel filler on a car with a very discreet fuel filler is rather pointless. If you had some ugly fuel cap then i'd see the point.

Lol i think ive offered a fair bit of help compared to most others in this thread. I was just stating my opinion of the mod. Your picture seems right. But until youv'e got the parts out im not exactly sure which hoses will need connecting back up to where etc.
