Reliability

Hi all i am still currently looking for my 1st ever cupra r - i will be buying in about 4 weeks or so thats when i'll have the cash to do it

I just wanted to hear 1st hand from the owners, whats the reliability like? What do i need to look out for? Are the turbo's strong? Engine parts strong? Good gearbox and suspension?

Any info will be a help

Had mine nearly 6 years with very little trouble.Engine is virtually bomb proof .Full service history should ensure a good example.Use the search function on this forum can't imagine there is anything noteworthy that has not been covered already

main issues on cupras/cupra r`s are

door seals- check carpets
temp sensor
coil packs
maf sensor
water pump.

not an exhaustive list but there the main ones.
however many cars dont get these problems and other than the water pump, very easy to diy if you do need to.

in 4.5 years ive had one maf, one temp, one water pump and im finally doing the door seals. 3 years this june at 320bhp so it isnt bad going.
