i currently own a pd130 it has the usual mods, re-map uprated disks/pads forge fmic pd160 air intake and green pannel filter. also a set of taesty 17'' wheels. have been on the phone to allards as i have heard lots of good things fron happy customers. thinking about getting one of there conversions which includes, turbo upgrade, uprated clutch stainless miltek exhaust and a custom code re-map. the car i use is my every day car and was worried about reliability.... i like to give the car pleanty of stick to so basicaly anyone had any problems with there car after this sort of work? cheers chris:D

Not as far as I know mate. Spaniels had a knackered turbo, but that could of been for a number of resons as it came off mikes rolled Cupra.

All I have heard is good things.

I'm running a VT5 conversion with loads of other bits. This weekend I drove to GTI International, did about 10 1/4 mile sprints all around the 15.5 second mark - giving 2nd gear SO much hell! And drove back home again. I've also seen BIG long run economy gains as the big turbo means more off-boost work when just cruising. Car read 71mpg on my way home this evening. 200+ miles at 70ish on the motorway. :D

No issues with anything breaking yet. Vid of me at Inters this afternoon (I'm in the Fabia - mate in the Octavia vRS)

My car's now done 157,000 miles... Admittedly the head was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago, but this wasn't related to Allard's work. I do 3-500 miles a week with very few problems! (Any I do encouter, are more than likely to do with the mileage than anything else...)

Jason - can't see the video at work - will check it out when I get home...

Good to hear you're giving it a good caining eitherway... Am I right to think that 15.5s is a little on the slow side given your fantastic power to weight ratio!? ;o) What are your 0-60, 20-100, etc... estimates?

Cheers,

0-60 on the day was 6.88 best. Just couldn't get traction - lighting up 2nd all the way, holding at 5000rpm then having to snatch third which was often too low a rpm to make really good progress. The surface there was not the best too.

I still had bloody good fun. Went through the 1/4 mile trap at indicated 95. It seemed all my progress was made in 3rd and 4th, and 2nd gear was just a tyre shredding wheelspinning experience. :D

Hehehe - when is driving a modified 2WD diesel, not a tyre shredding / wheelspinning experience!? Did you have NOS / Propane on? When's the diff due to be fitted?

Really need to get my car down the Pod at some point...

Diff due soon. Diff is in the new box now just waiting to check it's done right. NOS and propane was on, but not sure about the difference. I forgot to turn on the propane for one run and still did a 15.5 - that's just diesel and NOS.

I'm waiting on dyno run opportunities to test the actual difference NOS makes.

:-o i hope you meant custom remap !
The 1.9 PD engine is very strong so you shouldn`t have any problems. Customer service is one of Allard's strong points ask Dan, Triple D. Nobody and i mean nobody can make a 1.9 PD engine make more bhp and still remain driverable and reliable then Allard's or the 2.0 PD engine either actually.

So Mikey, when's the new clutch ready? I'm really interested to see what your 'headline' figures are without the slippage!

I have to admit i don`t want to go to a SMF with paddle clutch for several reasons but there isn`t a clutch on the market or even a custom clutch that i can find that will take 500lb torque with a DMF and a full disc plate. So uprated clutch will get fitted with new turbo set up later in the year. My car might be good for 340-350ish bhp at the moment with present set up but it is the small turbo that is holding it back. I am still running on my first map that was put on the car when i just had the turbo which is only set at 2 bar so been a bit slack really.
