Relay problem? HELP!!!

Hi all, last night I had a major problem while driving all my lights just went out. I checked all the fuses this morning and they are perfect. Also when I eventually got stopped last night i noticed that my wiper, horn and header fan also had stopped working. I did however get it going by kicking the dash just above the throttle. I tried this while I was driving and it got me home but the lights did go out a few times on me. (not the best method of a fix I know) Would this possibly be a relay problem and if so where are they? and how would i know which one is at fault? or maybe its something else. Anyhow got any ideas on what it might be? Im greatful for any help as im at a dead end here, Thanks.

The relay plate has bolt on connections that are known to come loose, they're behind the panel that you kicked. It could also be the ignition switch - give it a waggle.

I was just speaking to a guy there and he thinks it could be the body control module. does anyone know what this is and is it costly to replace? Thanks again.

Check the relay panel. The items you mention are not part of the convenience system, which controls windows, interior lights, mirrors, sunroof, alarm, central locking and the like.

Yea I got a new relay panel, which it to be fitted tomorrow hopefully, its the bottom half of it. so the convenience system controls everything? like you said about the lights mirror alarm central locking as well as my problems like wipers, horn, fan, and lights?

You said that you had wipers, lights, horn and heater fail. None of these are controlled by the convenience system.
The convenience system controls the electric windows and sunroof, electric mirrirs, interior lights, central locking and the alarm system. Nothing else.

It might be one of the relays on the panel rather than the panel itself. The first thing to do would be check all the connections on the existing panel for tightness.

Got thr problem sorted, The person who owned it before me must of had different problems one time and shorted out some of the relays with wires everywhere, a real botch job from what I seen. It cause the relay from the ignition to go faulty which stopped supplying power to the rest of them. Changed the ignition relay and relay panel and this solved the problem.
