Hi guys

Just looking at getting some info on a red I toledo on a 96 plate

I know the engine is a 1z but can someone tell me what bhp it is, i guessing 110

Now the thing is, i have a 1z(AHU) TDi van(says 104 on V5) so i looking to up the power

I'd like to know what the difference is between 90 and 110

ie, would it be larger turbo and ecu to match?

1Z and AHU are both 90 BHP engines. I had an AHU in my old Mk 2 Ibiza, and it was certainly not 110 BHP.

The 90BHP engines have a wastegate turbo, the 110 has a variable-geometry, VNT, turbo. The maps are obviously different too.

The red I isjust a badge, and can be replaced or even painted. My old Ibiza had TDI all in red in the front grill, but that is never diagnostic, only the badge on the boot is colour coded at the factory. I think your red I (if it's on the boot) is spurious.

Look again mate. its my van with the AHU engine which i know is 90bhp

I asking only as to what bhp the toledo could be as a possible upgrade for my van ie by swapping turbo and ecu.

Being a large car, i presumed they would have tweeked it to haul its lardy ar5e lol but figured i'd get more info before i buy it.
