If the coolant level is ok, then it's your coolant level sensor that has corrosion on it. It's part of the coolant tank so means the whole tank will need replacing if you cant clean it up. Remove the top from the coolant tank, and use a screwdriver to scrape corrosion from the prongs of the sensor is what most people do.

the light was only flashing for about 2/3 mins then went off... the water level was ok. i did think maybe it did it cus it was cold and went off once it was warm.. im going to look at it again today i will see if it doe's it again.

Hope you enjoy the new car.... I bought a 1.8 20v about a month ago and its not a bad car.... I am just saving pennies so I can get a few bits like wheels and suspension etc.... Does it have many miles on it as the timing belts can be prone to snapping so check it has been done....

It has done quite low milage then.... Mine is a 53 plate and has just hit 70k last week... I need to do the timing belt at the next service...

I used to play on the drag strip with my old car but the Toledo is not really suited to it...
