Can anyone recomend me a good (but affordable) wax please. If it makes a difference it is for a red car. Really hoping to give her a good going over as a treat for behaving her self on the icy roads haha

I've always used Autoglym Super Resin Polish followed by the Extra Gloos Protection and it keep my paintwork lovely for months. (Also red) There's also the HD Wax stuff but I've never tried it.

Sorry to hijack but I need to machine polish some swirl marks out soon, can anyone recommend the best product for this I've got access to a machine polisher just need some good polish.

Hi Mate

I have tried many and the only ones i have used that make a real difference IMO are either Meguiars NXT2 or Blackfire Sealant,

My choice would be the cheaper NXT2, easily available, just apply sparingly, will get some pics up when home tonight.

Rob

ps Autoglymn is also very good, just prefer thr 'smoother' finish of NXT myself

I actually used Collinite on Sunday but just on Roof and Bonnet to give a little extra protection, had intended to do the whole car but rain returned..... Still think NXT2 gives a better look and 'feel' but you cant beat the protection or longevity that Collinite gives :)

I asked a few mates who detail and they recommended dodojuice supernatural hybrid or valentines red concours- think the valentines concours is pretty expensive though so i got the dodojuice and applied a layer on sunday and was very happy with it! applied and removed easily and with it being a hard wax it should outlive most carnuba cream style waxs
i used megs carnuba before and found alot of it goes to waste when wiping it off

If you are looking for the Bling effet in paint it comes down to preperation.
Easiest is use a polish such as Autoglym Super Resin Polish (New Formula) which will clean your paint as well as giving a great shine then if you want top it off with wax or sealant such as Autoglym EGP.
A red car is one of the easiest to get the wet look with.
As I mentioned it comes down to preperation washing, de tar, claying, cleaning and polishing.

I recon I'm gonna give the collinite a go. Looks good with load of great reviews. Do u apply wax the same as polish? As in rub on and buff off? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, never bothered with wax before but really fancy giving it a try

Yes mate, use an applicator if possible and apply small amounts at a time. Wait for it to dry (it will turn hazy on the paint) and then buff off with a microfibre or similar soft cloth

not really the best pic as the sun was low and its hitting the paintwork on the rear but you can see the gloss finish the dodojuice supernatural hybrid leaves down the side of the car
with it being a hybrid wax its designed to give you the best between a long lasting protective wax and a wetlook gloss wax which sadly arent as long lasting

Auto Finesse Temptation is my cheaper wax of choice, theres far to many to choose from and everyone has different views on what the expect a wax to do in terms of application and durability.
