Get yourself onto detailingworld, it's an awesome forum with loads of detailing tips and advice.

It sounds like you're off to a good start, snow foam is a worthy investment, makes cleaning the car so much safer. For a good finish you need good preparation, use the correct grades of compound suited to the condition of your paint, glaze it, seal it then too it up with wax now and then and your car will be shiny for months :)

Not really much to go wrong with clay as long as you use plenty of quick detailer, doesn't need to be expensive stuff, I find a bottle of demon shine is cheap and cheerful and does the lubricating job nicely. If you really want to invest a bit in protection then the werkstat acrylic kit is the way to go for an awesome finish!

Good shout on DW... will be the end of your wallet / bank balance though ;)

There are litterally hundreds of products available so it comes down to what you want to achieve and how much you want to spend. Expect that spend bit to change though as you get into this and want to get better results as you progress your techniques.

For starters you have the essentials covered but definitely look to add a protection product (wax / sealant) as well.
