hi there I was wondering if the following problem was a recall on Seat Ibizas MK4. Was using the electric Window, today and was just closing it then heard a bang then the glass dropped took it to seat and they advised this was a common problem with seat ibiza MK4. For me to get this fixed it will cost £120 surely I shouldnt have to pay if this a common fault?Has anyone else experianced this problem, any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thank you[:@] [:@]

it's common on MK4 Golfs - the standard regulators have plastic clips - revised versions have metal ones (you have to buy the full assembly - clips can't be bought seperate)

Both the drivers and passenger window regulators were replaced under warranty on my old Mk4 Ibiza. Although my local dealer wouldn't say outright, they implied it was a fairly common problem with them...

plastic clips that go through the glass break

have seen a clever repair that was a hole drilled through it horizontally and a washer/split pin put back through to keep it in place

did the job

Hi Chris
If they do a recall then it really implies that there is a fault.
So they very rarely do recalls.
Even the common maf`s and coil packs was not recalls.
But they do have parts that are covered in to another year of warranty.
Customer Care claims are common.
They do this so they dont have to recall bits.
It is also common for the Octavia`s to go too.
But if you dont get any joy from the dealer call Customer Care direct yourself

Hey Chris
That is not a bad result.Well done.
I do know that if they pay 100% to the parts it comes with no warranty at all.
But if you pay a bit you get the full 2 years.
Well done
