Anyone fitted one of these to their Leon http://www.rearguards.co.uk/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=RBP591&sid=r5lh8p401u5oek5p8c876y75ff65nx6v ? Not the sexiest addition I know but with putting a bike in the boot and/or rubbish for tip may be a worthwhile practical investment. Hoping the black one looks ok given the FR has a black section at base of bumper already. Is the one SEAT sell the same (but more expensive) ?

I know you can get bumper film instead but suspect its a pain to apply, not as durable and a pain should you need to take it off.

Yes I have one of these on my car and must say very easy to fit and does protect the top edge of the bumper. Mine is black on red car and looks good, had one on my last car after it got badly scratched heaving something out of boot so put this one on when I first got the car.

Yep, I've got one on my black st too. Stops scuffs from my wheelchair damaging the paintwork. I think for most peoples everyday use the clear plastic ones are fine, but for bikes or people in my situation you can't beat the proper abs moulded plastic ones.

I would like some protection for this area also, problem is with my car being white, in my opinion any other colour would look out of place.

I would go for the ABS version, I could get it sprayed I suppose, but then the modification starts to get a bit on the expensive side, bearing in mind I only use the boot a couple of times a week ( shopping in then out ).

I have not yet seen one on a Leon to see what it looks like in real life, photos don't quite seem the same.

Thanx for that Terry, now that don't look too bad at all mate.

As a side issue - do you tend to notice how "dirty" water which has come from the roof and roof gutters tends to accumulate in this area ?

there's no slope on the rear bumper to allow the water to drain off. i get this too and had it quite badly on my Alfa also. it's an unsightly pain but it's easy to manage as part of a wash routine.

I have just noticed that there seem to be two little rubber stoppers on the bottom face of the boot door that contact the bumper when it is closed and on mine these have worn away the paint on the bumper down to the plastic underneath. Has this happened to any of you guys? I am wondering if the bits of rubber on the boot door were for transport ònly and should have been removed by the dealer?

I am sure these rubbers were mentioned in another thread about whether they were in the correct location, so they are on lots of our cars and mine just rest on the bumper and no more so no damage. Maybe your bumper/tailgate is incorrectly adjusted.

I notice the adjustable bump stop items on the left and right of the opening actually have small bits of sticky back plastic stuck to the paint where they contact to stop any paint damage, strange this wasn't done where these pads land...

Put one on my FR the other day. The one reason it's still there is because I've been too busy to take it off the car. It looks terrible.

Let me know (PM) if you manage to take it off undamaged and want to sell it. Otherwise I may go down the 'film' route as they are a tad expensive, especially for something that doesn't enhance the look of the car.
