Rear wiper

Needed a new back wiper as it was making a really bad noise and not wiping the window. So a trip to Halfords. I looked at the little book they have to find the code for the wiper blade you need. I found the one and it was an 11" blade. I paid the £7 and then went back to the car park to fit it on the back. The one that was on it (original one I think) was about 2 inches longer. So I went back in the store and showed them the difference and they said 'oh sometimes the book is wrong'! They checked on the computer and it came up with same code for an 11" wiper.
Anyway, I needed a wiper and chose a few 13" ones and eventually found one that fitted.

Anyone had a similar problem?

ask david at seremotors. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=249 I know the wipers on Altea's can be different and only the VIN number will decided the correct one for your car.

Hi,

I did exactly the same thing! Bought the 11" one from Halfords based on their book.

I did notice that the packaging had Altea XL on it, not just Altea, so don't know if that what the problem was. Anyways, it didn't fit so exchanged it for a replacement rubber pack and swapped it over myself.

Part number for the rubber is R03 - They're 16"" refills but you can trim them no problems.
