rear window demister

A bit confused by this,my rear window doesnt clear whatsoever when i press the button yet it lights up,the fuse is good and my wing mirrors heat up so theres no issue with wiring at this point.

right now this is the weird bit, stripped down the plastic covers over the boot lid (ass of a job in itself but thats another story) checked the power terminal to the glass and voltage is a good 12v.checked the terminal on the other side for voltage, 0.1volts, checked the voltage along the strips and as i move across it drops in voltage which means its good.
any opinions appreciated

right this is annoying me now.fuse good, switch comes on,heated mirrors work so it defo has power.
tab on screen reads 12v going into screen, earth is good but nothing happens when its on.
screen has no visible cracks/breaks in the element

do you just use the air con to clear instead?

I would use both together if possible, but I just don't rate the rear demister. However in the winter usually the aircon wont work so the only option is the demister. Maybe there's just a common fault we have but like you say everything seems fine and it does very slowly clear the rear windscreen suggesting it's heating up.

mine was doing this recently as a result of one of the bars at the bottom packing up. New window went in and no issues now
