Rear washer/ Boot open light

My LCR's rear windscreen washer isn't working as good and now my boot open light is on the dash I had this problem on my last LC and the washer pipe came of under pressure as I put it on when it was frozen. This one still works but not as good.

Does this ring any bells with anyone with LCR's or any leons?

The last car i had to rip of the boot interior and stick the pipe back on, don't want to have to do this again!

Had it on my LC. The water shorted the boot lock and kept setting the alarm off as the alarm thought the boot was open!

Lock eventually seized - got it sorted under warranty with a new lock.

Had exactly the same problem, alarm went off an all, what u need to do is when u lock the car press the lock button on the fob a few times in quick succesion this deactivates the alarm but locks the car.

That's hardly the most secure option! And in any case, two button presses de-activates the dead locks, not the alarm.

Its all sorted over the weekend.
Took the back cover of tried to dry out the lock and catch, light was still half on at the dash but i re-wired it and secured the window washer properly. All better!

A good way to avoid the pipe popping off is to make sure you have a good concentration of anti freeze. Some (albeit not all) of the problems are caused in the winter months and people not having a strong enough concentration.

As a result the water freezes over in the hose pipes and when you apply the stalk the water can't get through and the pressure builds up at the end of the hose pipe popping it off the jet and running all over the inner boot trim.

sorry to steal this

I just did my skoda rear wiper conversion which works fine but my rear washer hasn't been working since buying the car (6mnths); now I checked and the motor is working fine and the pipe connected properly at the tank.

Reading from the previous posts, am I better to take the inside cover of the boot and checking that the pipe there hasn't come off?
I've had no leaks and all rear lights have been working fine.

Wot do you think?

Thanks in advance

not sure how to tackle this as mine was all done under warranty but you should be able to tell if pump is trying to push water to rear by listening, if this is ok then next option is to find end of pipe in boot which means taking off rear cover if pump is silent check fuses then use a simple lamp tester at pump connecter to find out if voltage is getting to pump motor this may be tricky as think its all hidden in the wheel arch hope you have succ.ess

thanks, the motor is working as i can hear it and feel it, it must be the pipe that has come off so prob this week-end I'll take the boot cover off and check..

I spent all yesterday morning trying to get my boot cover off to sort the hose out....still no joy. It just wont seem to move!

Any tips?

I've looked on the search but all the things they suggest simply dont work!

sorry to bring up an old thread (better than starting a new one, eh?)

my rear washer hasn't worked since i got the car (about 2 months) so i took the rear panel off and disconnected the pipe. the water ran into a jug straight from the pipe but when i connected it back to the motor it pissed everywhere, looked like it was coming from the little black plastic bit that comes out of the motor? does it sound like i need a new motor or could the connection just be blocked?
i might have a go at taking the motor off at the weekend if i feel brave!

*edit* are rear wiper motors the same for all leon mk1's?

i haven't taken the motor off yet but it's looking like the plastic part that comes out of it to connect the pipe to is broken inside.
new motor time?
are they all the same on seats cos i've found one from an arosa and it looks the same?
