Rear light fitting problem

I bought a set of standard rear lights a while back to replace crappy lexus lights the car had

The problem is no matter what i do i cant get the lights to sit flush, both with the body of the car and the fog light sections

Where the rear lights meets the rear quarter panel i can fit the tip of my finger in the gap

Obviously it looks bad from behind because the foglight doesnt sit flush with the rear light either, its about 1cm too far out

Anyone else had any problems?

Is this cheap copys of the lights or am i doing something wrong here??

Thanks

Is the sealing foam strip still around the back of the taillights..?
That would solve the leak but its weird that they aint sitting right.
Mines dont sit too well either. A just noticed after reading this haha.
