Rear Bushes on a '99 Toledo

Hi, I've noticed that the bushes on the back of my '99 Tolly are knackered (thanks to forum user silver surfer who pointed me to the problem), making a clonking sound when I go over bumps.

How easy are these to replace? If it's a job I can do at home with a reasonable amount of ease, I'll just buy some bits off the web, but if it's going to cost more than about £100, it's probably easier to send it off to a garage. What tools am I likely to need? I've got a trolley jack and a set of spanners, all still in their lovely plastic wrapping haha.

I've looked at "Powerflex" bushes on the net, are these good ones to go for? Seems remarkably cheap

its the getting the old ones out and the new ones in thats a pain and cant usually be done at home. You need to drop the rear beam down, ream out the old ones, push in the new ones then refit. have found its better to get a local garage to do.

Get it in the garage, why struggle? Mine were done that way and didn't cost the earth to be replaced.

Done! £106 at the local Seat dealer, which seems pretty reasonable to me including a courtesy car (Hyundai Accent ewwwww)

Now all I need is new brake pads and I'm in business

Thanks guys

Keep an eye on the front wishbone bushes too...they are also prone to ripping, in fact...cant recommend powerflex replacements enough, even if your bushes are ok! really do improve handling......:D
