Rear brake upgrade ?

Hi all,

I know 312mm audi tt s3 upgrade is highly recommended accross VAG forums but what about the rears ? I’ve done a quick search but its not really talked about.

My pads are running low on the back so will need changing, does anybody have a recommended upgrade route? If nothing is available I’ll probably go for EBC slotted rotors/ green pads.

I will do front upgrade at some point but the pads are practically new so I cannot see point in changing them before their time is up.

Thanks

Rears only do about ~10% of the braking so in the grand scheme of things it's not worth spending 2-3x the price on OEM stuff for the rears when they contribute so little.

Hi Glanza – So you would only go for OEM on the rear; both Discs and rotors ? When I upgrade to 312mm on the front (which will be a while anyway) I’m worried it might look out of proportion I can see where you’re coming from if they only account for ~10% of braking.

Thanks :)

I know it would cost more but it would look miles better and would fill the wheels
out more, and match the front when you get it done,:)

Actually, it barely fills out the wheels at all

Vroom, What did you upgrade to?

AwesomeScott,

Looks like a nice upgrade but seems i was hoping for larger calipers inclusive around that price bracket.

Awesome thanks for the links - I'm happy with second hand TBH as will have them refurbished if I do go down that route

Of course will do - I know this is going off topic now but I used to browse a MK4 golf forum some time ago and you offered retro fitting of cruise control is that something you still do? If so please can you advise on a price inc labour etc.

I was going to do the 256mm vented upgrade at the rear but when crn drilled 232mm discs are 35 delivered and brembo oem pads are 20 quid delivered, I couldn't bring myself to part with the money to do the 256mm upgrade
