My drivers side rear brake disc gets very hot after a few miles with the passenger side staying cold?? (02 ibiza cupra )
Had new caliper fitted to drivers side rear but still the same??

Anyone know what could be wrong?

I'm getting the same problem on my 2001 Leon Cupra, but it's on the passenger-side rear. My dealer looked at it and said that there is nothing wrong, but I'm not convinced.

It's going back in next week for a service and now the warranty has expired I'm sure they will find something wrong [:@]

@Dan, well its certainly not the brake caliper so don`t change that.
The rear brake is not binding on the disc.

@ silver surfer, all pipes and cables were checked and they ok.

Its as if the rear braking goes all to the one rear wheel.
Something to do with the brake control system maybe?
a M.O.T. brake test might show something?

Or wheel bearing/hub generating the heat?

Not too far away
My read passenger side disc has gone Blue from heat! They have checked the brakes out a couple of times and say that its not binding :( It certainly doesnt seem to be if you jack it up anyhow! I just have no idea what causing it!

When car is on the ramps with the weight off the wheel all seems ok for me to.
My rear brakes are not binding, although a friend suggested that the handbrake
cable is on slightly with the car off the ramps. non vent rear discs heatup quickly

Going to check that the caliper returns to the stop with handbrake off, while
not on ramps.
